AI Careers
Build AI Co-Intelligence. Not Tools.
Deep tech. Product thinking. Relentless Shipping.
How We’re Building with AI
AI products today are hybrid systems combining three distinct paradigms. We architect and ship these integrated systems:
Deterministic Systems (Software 1.0)
Traditional code, APIs, databases, and infrastructure. The foundation that still runs most systems and handles deterministic logic.
Predictive Systems (Software 2.0)
Custom ML models, fine-tuning, and specialised architectures. Where domain-specific requirements demand tailored solutions.
Agentic Systems (Software 3.0)
LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and agent orchestration. Flexible reasoning and decision-making capabilities. Generate code, configure systems, or orchestrate low-code/no-code platforms to execute solutions.
Where we’re heading (for now)
We’re working towards sophisticated multi-agent systems where specialised AI roles coordinate like virtual teams. Think elaborate orchestration patterns, autonomous workflow routing, and emergent problem-solving capabilities that leverage the power of thinking models.
For us, this is uncharted territory. We need engineers and domain specialists who can architect these systems, optimise role definitions at scale, and solve coordination challenges that don’t yet have established patterns.
If building the infrastructure layer for autonomous AI collaboration excites you, we’re building it now.
What You’ll Experience
Work on genuinely novel problems. You’ll tackle challenges without established playbooks—building multi-agent systems that transform product specs into production code, designing autonomous security operations platforms that triage threats in real-time, creating AI colleagues that handle millions of customer interactions with appropriate judgment and escalation, and more. These aren’t incremental improvements; they’re fundamental business problems.
Pioneer where it matters most. Fintech combines the speed of tech with the stakes of finance. Real money, real regulations, real consequences. This creates the perfect environment for pioneering AI systems: you can move fast, deploy to production rapidly, and solve problems with real-world constraints. While other industries theorise about AI transformation, we’re shipping it.
Accelerated learning across the full stack. Work across Software 1.0 (traditional engineering), Software 2.0 (ML models), and Software 3.0 (LLM orchestration) to build hybrid systems. Touch everything from customer experience to developer tooling, security infrastructure and business process. The breadth of problems and intensity of production deployment create exceptional learning velocity for you and our teams.
Meaningful impact at scale. Your work will transform how thousands of colleagues operate and how millions of customers interact with Deriv. Whether you’re building AI systems that autonomously handle customer support, orchestrating agents that generate production code, deploying security platforms that protect real money and data, or democratising AI capabilities across business functions, you’ll ship production systems with measurable outcomes and real stakes.
The Opportunities
AI careers at Deriv span multiple teams and functions. Whether you join a dedicated AI team, a product engineering team, or bring AI expertise to a business function, we’re looking for two types of talented people:
1. Product Thinking AI Engineers
Build production AI systems to drive the customer experience and operations of a fast-paced, global fintech business.
Here’s what you could be doing at Deriv:
Orchestrate LLMs to generate code from spec to production
Design and implement AI security systems, including autonomous SOC platforms that triage threats, pentesting agents, threat intelligence systems
Build customer-facing AI colleagues that handle millions of interactions, make autonomous decisions, and maintain appropriate escalation protocols
Create AI-assisted development workflows that maintain design system consistency whilst generating pixel-perfect interfaces at scale
Work across Software 1.0 (traditional code), 2.0 (ML models), and 3.0 (LLM orchestration) to build hybrid systems
Ship to production regularly, measure real-world outcomes, and iterate based on evidence
What we’re looking for:
Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience shipping production systems
Deep understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, and building reliable AI systems at scale
Comfort with ambiguity and ability to architect solutions for novel problems
Security-conscious mindset, understanding how to build AI systems that handle real money and regulations
Focus on measurable outcomes and evidence-based iteration over theoretical perfection
2. Tech-Minded Domain Specialists
Transform your function by designing and deploying AI systems for your domain.
Here’s what you could be doing at Deriv:
Design AI systems that solve complex problems in your domain—marketing, product, compliance, HR, finance, operations, or support
Build AI solutions that provide genuinely new insights, like understanding complete customer journeys across marketing channels or maintaining design consistency across hundreds of components
Collaborate closely with engineering teams on technical architecture and implementation
Translate deep domain expertise into AI capabilities, training data, and measurable outcomes
Own the full lifecycle from concept to deployment to iteration based on production data
What we’re looking for:
Deep expertise in your domain with experience solving complex, ambiguous problems
Technical literacy, comfort with system architecture, APIs, data analysis, and working with engineers
Builder mentality with focus on shipping and iterating rather than endless planning
Strong analytical skills and comfort with data-driven decision-making
Enthusiasm for reimagining how your function operates, not just optimising existing workflows
